Choose the proper Bat
from this Baseball Bat Review

There is a large variety of materials available to make baseball bats. This baseball bat review looks at the most common materials: aluminum, graphite/titanium and wood.

Aluminum bats were introduced by Worth and have become very popular. They are lighter than wood bats and offer more power. They cost more, but they are durable and don't crack or break as easy as wood.

Some aluminum bats are enhanced with other alloys like zinc, copper and magnesium. These bats come in single layer or double layer construction. Double layer bats are more durable and provide more power. Price range is about $30-300+.

Graphite/Titanium lined bats
Graphite/Titanium is added to thinner wall aluminum bats, which makes these bats lighter and enable players to swing faster. These bats also help to reduce the sting to the hands, when hitting the ball.

Wood bats were the only bats used until the mid 1970s. Professional players are required to use wood bats. Some high schools have recently returned to use wood bats for safety reasons. Material is mostly northern white ash. Maple has become more popular, mostly due to the success Barry Bonds had with these bats in 2001. Price is about $30-100+.
