Good performing
Composite Softball Bats

Composite softball bats generally perform as good as aluminum bats. Most composite bats are slow pitch models. One noticeable difference is the sound effect. Aluminum bats produce a "ping" sound, while composite bats produce a "pop" sound.

The Miken Ultra 2 softball bat costs about $200. The bat exceeds the 98 mph limit and is therefore only approved for senior softball. The bat swings very light and fast. It is recommended to use it only in game situations.

The Miken Recoil ASA costs about $150-600. It features a 100% composite material, a balanced swing weight, 14.5 inch barrel length, a 2.25 inch barrel diameter and a thin handle.

The DeMarini Juggernaut ASA model costs about $300. It features a 13 inch barrel, a balanced swing weight, clutch end caps and a comfortable bat grip.

The Worth Mutant models retail for about $300. They are not ASA approved. The bats feature a hybrid composite three piece technology and have an end loaded swing weight.

Softballs hit with composite bats can provide more distance. The bats need to be broken in to get the best performance. One break in method is to hit about 50 balls with a light swing and about 100 balls or more with a medium swing. Then hit about 50-100 softballs with a full swing.
