High School Baseball Bats
that fit your Level of Play

For high school players to perform well, it is important to get the right high school baseball bats. Most high school bats are constructed from high tech materials. Wood bats are not popular and have been replaced with aluminum, graphite lined or titanium lined bats. These modern bats are more durable, lighter and create better bat speed.

Aluminum bats are made from a variety of alloys. A common alloy is 7046, which is used in lower priced aluminum bats. The mid range alloy is 7050, which has more copper and magnesium in the aluminum. A more expensive and stronger alloy is 7055.

Graphite and titanium lined bats are stronger and lighter than high grade aluminum bats.

Wood bats are used in the Major Leagues. Professional players are required to use wood bats. Some high schools have returned to use wood bats for safety reasons.

High school players, who are 66 to 68 inches tall should generally use bats that weigh 27 to 28 ounces. Players taller than 68 inches should use bats that weigh 30 to 33 ounces.

High school baseball bats are usually 32 to 36 inches long. The barrel of the bat can be 2 1/2, 2 5/8 or 2 9/16 inches in diameter. Bats with longer and wider barrels are usually easier to hit. The grip material can be leather, synthetic material or rubber. Leather grips are usually easier to handle.
