Increase Swing Speed with Titanium Softball Bats
When looking to buy titanium softball bats or any baseball bat, you need to consider your age, height, weight and hitting strength.
Softball bats are made of aluminum or graphite/titanium lined aluminum. Aluminum bats come in a variety of alloys and different weights. Generally, lighter aluminum alloys are thinner and more durable.
Graphite and titanium are light and strong materials. Both of these materials are usually added to thinner wall aluminum models. This makes them lighter and increases the player's swing speed.
Consider the barrel size, bat taper and grip when choosing a bat. The standard softball bat diameter is 2 1/2 inches. The fastpitch barrel standard is 2 3/4 inches. High school and college players are restricted to a maximum barrel diameter of 2 5/8 inches. Standard bats are tapered 31/32 of an inch.
Leather and synthetic leather provide a better grip. Rubber grips are softer and absorb more of the shock.
Basic standard for determining the bat length:
5-7 years old: 24-26" bat length
8-10 years old: 26-28" bat length
11-14 years old: 30-32" bat length
15-17 years old: 32-34" bat length
