Softball uniforms have added more colors and graphics since the 1970's. Double knit synthetic material was the preferred material in the 1970's and 1980's. This material has remained popular, because it holds its shape and is easy to maintain.

Jerseys with team designs and 100% polyester material are very popular. Adult sizes cost about $15-20 plus $5 for adding a number. Youth jerseys cost about $15 plus $5 for adding a number.

Prices for softball pants with 100% double knit polyester cost about $30-50. They feature double knees, 2 back pockets and zipper closure with two snap buttons. Some have mesh technology, which provides more comfort.

Softball shorts usually consist of 100% polyester or 50% nylon and 50% cotton. Price range is $25-60, depending on size. Some shorts feature mesh technology that offers more comfort.
