Good fitting
Softball Gloves

Softball gloves come in various sizes, different types of materials and features. They are larger than baseball gloves to help catch the larger ball.

Softball sizes range from 12 to 14 inches. Outfielders generally use sizes 12.5-13.5 inch. Pitchers and infielders usually use sizes in the 12-13 inch range.

Generally, three different types of material are used:
1. A good quality glove is made of leather, which provides better comfort and feel. Leather usually is more durable and lasts longer.
2. Some newer models consist of treated leather. They are softer and are still durable. They don't need much break in. Also less care is needed.
3. Synthetic materials are used mostly for youth gloves. They are softer, less expensive and lighter, but don't last as long.

If you play both baseball and softball, it might be better to buy the larger glove.

Youth models cost about $15-40, while good adult models cost $80-170.
